Guatemala banned domestic travel over coronavirus
Guatemala has imposed a ban on travel between regions due to the threat of the spread of coronavirus of a new type, according to Reuters. It is reported that the relevant order was signed by the President of the Republic Alejandro Jammattei. The measure was introduced to prevent infection from spreading during Easter holidays, when Guatemalan residents tend to visit their families. The country also introduced a dry law prohibiting the sale and consumption of alcohol. It will enter into force on 12 April. According to the latest data, 61 cases of coronavirus infection and two deaths from COVID-19 have been confirmed in Guatemala.
