The company also said in a statement that the approved Opaganib expanded access program allows doctors at Italy's three largest hospitals to treat patients at high risk of developing pneumonia and patients with pneumonia. For example, the Italian National Institute of Infectious Diseases and the Ethics Committee of Central Italy approved the use of the new drug in 160 patients in three major hospitals.
