Uzbekistan gets $60 million loan to improve garbage management

The loan in the amount of $60 million for Uzbekistan was approved by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the representative office of the bank in the republic reported. Funds will be allocated to the management of solid household waste in small urban and rural areas of Uzbekistan. In particular, it is planned to purchase 300 vehicles and 6,000 garbage cans. Special laboratory equipment is planned to be bought for the State Committee of Uzbekistan on Ecology and Environmental Protection. On the basis of the committee will launch training of laboratory personnel. Recall, at the end of March the mass media of Uzbekistan reported that due to the introduction of quarantine in Tashkent there were problems with garbage removal.
