WHO: Coronavirus pandemic has not yet peaked
The peak of new type coronavirus infections in the world has not yet been reached. This is what experts from the World Health Organization (WHO) believe. However, a number of countries in Europe are experiencing a slowdown in the spread of coronavirus infection. The number of people worldwide who have been confirmed to be infected is approaching 2 million. The number of deaths recorded exceeds 120,000. Coronavirus infections have been reported in 213 countries and territories. There are no cases of infection in Turkmenistan and the DPRK. Infections have also not been recorded on several islands, such as Saint Helena, Antarctica, Svalbard Archipelago. According to the news agency, earlier WHO head Tedros Adhanom Gebreyesus warned states of the danger of quickly lifting the restrictions imposed by the pandemic. Hasty lifting of restrictions could increase the epidemic and have more severe consequences for the economy, he said.
