In the case of the death of a football player in Georgia detained 17 people
Police in Georgia detained 17 people during an investigation into the death of 19-year-old football player Georgy Shakarashvili. This was reported on June 26 by Public Television with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. The athlete disappeared on June 18. After four days of searching, his body was taken out by divers from the Aragvi River. The deceased football player recorded numerous injuries caused by blunt objects. According to journalists, all 17 detainees were charged under the article "Violence." A criminal case was also opened under the article Illegal deprivation of liberty. It is reported that about 50 witnesses were interviewed. It is worth noting that according to preliminary information, Shakarashvili was at a party on the eve of his death at a cottage on the occasion of his girlfriend's birthday. There he had a quarrel, after which he and several of his friends left the place of the holiday. The case also includes two cars in which allegedly several people with metal bats caught up with young people who left the party.
