The United States tightened control over the export of a number of goods to Russia
The United States lifted the exception allowing American companies to export a wide range of goods to Russia without obtaining a license from the US Department of Commerce, Reuters reports June 29. The restrictions affected the export of bearings, semiconductors, computers, telecommunications equipment and a number of other goods that are considered manufactured using sensitive technologies in the United States. Thus, the agency reports, the US Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) of the Ministry of Trade plans to stop Russia from achieving its national goals. The same export control will apply when supplying goods to China, Venezuela, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Iraq. Earlier, US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo announced the cessation of exports to Hong Kong of military products and a number of dual-use technologies.
