Stoltenberg: it is not yet possible to hold a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO commission
Ukraine decided to grant the status of an expanded partner, but the NATO Ukraine commission meeting still cannot take place, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on June 16 during a video conference. The problem has not yet been resolved. That's what we still have to solve, and I hope we find a solution, Stoltenberg added. Recall that the NATO Ukraine meeting is blocked by Hungary, which is not happy with Ukraine's policy towards the Hungarian national minority living in Transcarpathia. As the news agency reported, earlier Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian Federation is closely monitoring the expansion of NATO, and granting Ukraine the status of an expanded partner does not contribute to strengthening security and stability in Europe.
